I actually started blogging 8 years ago when I was on SparkPeople. I was spotty, at best, but I did find it to be therapeutic. I was on one helluva journey then, but that is a blog for another day.
So here goes:
Hi! I’m Erin…
And my journey is starting again for the 100th time. Someone once told me, losing weight is like quitting smoking, like quitting any other addiction. You try, try, try, try again, and eventually you will be successful.
I was successful before, and I will be successful again. I had a multitude of reasons for losing weight the first time (long story short, I lost 146 pounds after I had my kid 8 years ago). My main reason? To be healthy for my daughter.
That is my reason again, but with a more important alteration: To promote HER health as well as mine, through not only words but with the actions.
I started Weight Watchers this morning. I weighed in. I wasn’t surprised one bit by the number, but it didn’t make me feel any better about it. That being said, by the time I left the meeting, I was ready to go. I am very impressed with their new Freestyle program (there is a much longer list of 0 point foods that includes eggs WITH yolk, chicken breast, beans and much more). I went to the grocery store and bought all the foods, spent all the money, and went home to prepare.
Because this time, I will succeed.
